This tutorial in the A-10 looks at the arming, targeting and firing of both variants of the AGM-65 'Maverick.' We'll learn the differences between the variants, how to scope out a target area, select and lock onto specific targets, and launch a missile to destroy both ground vehicles and light buildings.

Any questions or comments, please leave them below.

Many thanks,

  • I just started playing flight sims about a week ago, with the aid of a buddy purchasing me a flight stick as a gift (saitek x52) expensive gift haha but your videos have been very helpful and I'm definitely looking forward to more. Thanks a ton. You know you're doing it right if you can help out a true nubbie.

  • @29thmarines Glad to hear it! An X52 eh? That's a pretty stick! I'm still using my faithful X45 (which is still fantastic) but contemplating the upgrade, let me know how it flys!

More tutorials are on the way, I'm just getting to grips with Flaming Cliffs 2 and having a bit of fun flying missions and exploring the new terrain.

    Thanks for the feedback!

  • hey how do you get your pilot to speak?

i have the original LOMAC, not FC or FC2, so is it a pack that comes with Flaming Cliffs or was it a downloaded pack?

  • @tbarron95 Your pilot should speak when issuing radio commands (check your controls under the options menu to see what you have it set as.)

Flaming Cliffs are expansions created by the developers of the original and can be purchased and downloaded from the official website.

  • Great series! Most of it also applies to lomac:fc2, as far as I can tell.

  • @StrategicGamesEtc Yes, it does. I'll probably switch over to FC2 soon when continuing the series of tutorials. I just started recording these on a computer that only had FC1 and so stuck with that. I think more people have FC2 now, so it's probably worth switching to it.

  • I do wish we'd get another Lock On game, complete with better graphics, physics and, of course, more flyable aircraft.

  • Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog stick.

  • Nevermind that last post, I accidentally turned optics off and they stayed off after the last flight.

  • I am able to lock onto and destroy the first tank but then I can no longer lock on to enemy ground vehicles. Whats the point of having more mavericks if I can no longer lock on to enemy ground vehicles.

  • I made a typo in the previous post.
