Aha, my fellow Pierrotian. Yup, before two kids, I hustled a sketch-mime troupe around mostly Florida. We performed in colleges, grade schools, with symphonies, at film festivals. After that I became a voice over type. How's that for a quick change? I find the mime training really helps with theremin playing. Proprioceptive sense is more highly developed in mime training, so easier to find those notes! We also did spoken improv and other fun stuff. Ah, youth. What sort of performances do you do?

Yet another creepy old man playing the theremin out of tune on youtube. Very funny!

What a beautiful song! You are phenominal on the theremin, Eliot! I hope that some day I will get a Theremin for myself to play (more like noise, I'm afraid...LOL)

Phenominal, Eliot!

Dude! Only other guy I know with a Pierrot costume! Bravo! Do you have a Mime background as well?

I was trained as a mime and worked and performed at a mime theater (!) in upstate New York many years ago. I still use mime technique in performance (and masks, etc.) but I don't do the kind of anecdotal mime associated with guys like Marceau.
What about you?

Lucita's sage remark puts me in mind of something the great lounge singer Frank Kitus said at a piano bar in Dubuque after his performance had been interrupted by a drunken teenager: "My work may not be pearls, but surely this is swine."
