During Spring clean-Up, I had to dispatch a large limb that had fallen over the winter. Called into service is my Himalayan Imports Baby Ganga Ram Special. The knife is a 16.5 inch long, 20 oz chopper made by the Royal Kami, Bura, at Bir Ghorka Factory in Nepal. The blade itself is forged by hand from old truck springs and the handle is made of water buffalo horn. It is a nice tool to have around, and even though it's not my favorite HI khukuri, it is still a great chopper.
There may be faster ways to chop up an oak limb, but none is quite as fun as swinging a khukuri. Besides, it only took 1 minute 5 seconds to get through the almost 4 inch wide log!

@nicko978 Bone is a little less common than horn for handle material. Having used both horn and wood handles, I'd say they're both fine choices: tough, durable, and attractive. I usually pick wood handled knives because I like the look a bit more, but my horn handled knives are just as well loved and well used.

just wondering what your opinion is on handle choices. Their site offers bone or wood. I'm guessing bone would be less "grippy"?
