Has anyone noticed, when Angel said that he had saved the world a few times, that I don't think he ever really has? 1st Season of Buffy: Buffy closed the hellmouth, stopping the apocolypse, 2nd season: He caused it, but buffy stopped it, 3rd season, buffy killed the mayor, 1st season Angel: He didn't stop them bringing back Darla, 2nd Season; no apocolypse, 3rd, again no apocolypse but he gets attacked, 4th; Connor saved everyone, 5th: Don't really know cause it ended. But Spike saved the world

Spike didnt fight for his soul... he fought to get his chip removed and ended up getting a soul instead. spike saved the world once, W/ angels help

Angel :

stopped time from freezing

he and others stopped illyria from blowing up

He is the one that made people realize jasmine was evil by going to her old world

he saved buffy's life in the fight against caleb and without buffy, first wouldve won

Spike is clearly better than Angel!! I love Angel but he does not compare to Spike at all there are so many reasons why and some highlighting points are : 1. Spike CAN love without a soul, and Angel cannot. 2.Angel is tormented by his soul, while Spike fought to be a better man (or vamp). 3.Spike is more passionate than Angel and Spike is just plain hotter :)

also @TheNinjaBabe09 Angel and Angelus ARE the SAME vampire, the soulful Angel is just the one with restraints (not by choice either)

Btvs S1: Buffy died, and if Angel hand't found her and got Xander to save her then the master would've opened the hellmouth and goodbye world. Btvs S2: It wasn't Angel who awoke acathla, it was Angelus, two different people. Btvs S1-6: Neither Angel nor Spike saved the world. Btvs S7: If Angel didn't give them the necklace, then they would've all died. So, its fair enough to say Angel and Spike BOTH saved the world. Ats S5 : Again BOTH Spike and Angel saved the world. So, they're = now STFU plz.

That doesn't even make the slightest bit of sense. The lever to turn off the machine was in LA. If LA was frozen in time, than Buffy couldn't have done a thing. And that whole energy wave of time-stopping-ness was traveling much to fast for Buffy to possibly notice in time to do anything. She doesn't have a Lorne to predict things or anything.

@BelleandBuster4Eva I agree. He HELPED save the world a few times, never actually did it. In season 4 of Buffy, Spike helped. He killed the werewolf or whatever it was that was about to kill Giles, Willow and Xander. The ritual was complete, but only just. In season 5 Spike helps a lot. In season 7 he actually saves the world.

Angel says stopping Acathla was him. He awakened Acathla. He came closer to destroying the world than to saving it.

Spike couldn't have saved the world without Angel giving Buffy the amulet. He also keeps time from being frozen (that's definitely pretty apocalyptic) in "Happy Anniversary". Angelus kills the Beast in season 4, restoring the sun.
