The majority of the stars in the night sky are nameless and are distinguished only by a boring scientific catalog number. With the Name a Star Gift Box, you can officially assign any name to one of these fiery balls of gas.

The Name a Star Gift Box includes all of the necessary ingredients to register your star with the Star Registry as well as how to locate it in the sky. After registration, you'll receive a confirmation certificate detailing your star's new name. The Star Registry is cataloged in the British Library.

There are zero restrictions on the name you give to your star, so go crazy!

  • If you must sell this, PLEASE make it clear that any name you pick for a star will NOT be an official one as the company does not have that authority! All that will happen is that the name will be entered into the company's database which they may publish at some point. And everything that is published is submitted to the British library.

Outside of this, the name will receive NO recognition whatsoever and no astronomer will ever refer to the star by the name you've chosen.

    The Internatio.

  • @friedmahooga We actually make that abundantly clear on the product page, which I assume you did not visit.

  • @vat19com The point is you have not made it abundantly plain here. The intro of your video is also false. "The majority of stars are simply identified by a load of impersonal numbers and letters. These stars are waiting to be given a real name". No, they are not. The "impersonal numbers and letters" ARE their real names and will continue to be so - regardless of what names the customers pick.

  • @friedmahooga The point is that it IS clear where the item is actually being purchased. I'm sorry that you ignored the website, but we make it very clear at the point of sale that your name will in not necessarily be recognized by the name you chose. This set is aimed more at sentimentality than actual scientific process, which is actually very clear to the majority of people who have bought this product and visit this page.

  • @vat19com to be fair it's like telling that the party bear isn't fully edible on the purchase site.

it's not cool to hear a certain promise on a youtube ad and then find out that that promise is only half true when you actually want to go and buy it, but not blaming you in anyway.

  • @kitty78961 Thank you too.
