Tornado sirens in Cordele, GA

Thanks to the remnants of Tropical Storm Fay, a small, rain-wrapped F0 tornado touched down just south of Cordele, GA on 8/26/08 per police reports. This is what the residents in town were greeted with before it hit. (tornado touch down was approx. 3 miles from my location here beyond the tree line; the wall cloud is visible in the background) This is the first time I've ever heard a verbal warning over the siren loudspeakers. Very scary!

Whatever you say genius. I'm sure the NWS called up the ambulance service and told them to cut a single ambulance siren on to alert an entire county of the tornado warning in effect.

I live in Georgia... I HATE the sirens!! When that tornado movement hit us Friday, omg it was so random it scared me to DEATH!!
