  • Again, they aren't born with it. I know of countless people (including myself) who were not athletic in their younger days, but say they got inspired, and now they are. Drawing, music, math, etc, you aren't "born with a predisposition". Though you are correct about needing perfect pitch and good memory, and flexible hands, but not large hands (Hoffman). But it's all learnable. Although I have no piano examples, I know of 3 guitarists who started MUSIC at the age of 11+ and are virtuosos.

  • No, he's still wrong. And you are too. No one is "born" with it, it's all learnt since the piano is a human invention. It wasn't there until we created it, so it's impossible to be born with it. But if you've been exposed to music since the early days of your life, all that does is give you a headstart ahead of others.

  • @knightLynderic Haha my friend. Procrastination is my enemy as well. Poor time management. Unmotivated. We are not alone, as I know so many people who share my thoughts. Bright people being brought down by the luxury of the internet. Honestly, I would be a hell of a lot more productive with by controlling my technology usage. I have a love-hate relationship with it, and it sounds like you too are seeing society's growing problem.

  • @knightLynderic And the same I realised in the University.I was a straight A student, I was studying a little and I didnt need more. Now in the University I have to study in a programme and I dont have one. I m procrastinating, I cant concentrate dispite the fact that (and I m not bragging about it) I have a very high I.QMaybe it's the nature's economy! You cant have it all.Anyway I hope I ll manage with both Univ and piano and finish them.Sorry for the long and pathetic message!

  • @Un1234l I started playing on a synthesiser by myself, I always admired music and piano. One year later (I was 12) I went to the concervatory and started studying the piano with a teacher. I am lazy, I wasnt, havent ,dont study BUT I m good, very good actually.

Now that I m preparing my programme for my diploma I realise that the so called "talent" (which I believe is let's say Music IQ ) isnt enough and I need to practice. Not as hard as others but talent without work wont get you far.

  • @1Thompsonmusic you seem to have missed the point. We are not talking about music per se, we are talking about a career as a concert pianist. Try to pay attention next time.

  • @rustywires

Showmanship???? You are the biggest bullshitter on youtube!

  • @krino2lino

stop bullshitting us. Joy and love have nothing to do with classical music.

  • Charisma???!!! What has THAT got to do with this music?? NOTHING!!

  • @espejosgigantescos Yeah! I agree with you. I started learning to play the piano last year, i was 24 years old then. I'm using John Thompson's Grade II and currently studying Liszt's Liebestraume as my recital piece.
