Deutsche Post DHL announced today that it's second quarter net profit rose 22.7% to 81 million euros or 107 million US dollars, up from 66 million euros. Revenue rose 15.6% to 12.8 billion euros, topping analysts expectations. CEO Frank Appel said, "As as an enabler of global trade, we benefited significantly from the recovery of the world economy in the second quarter. We are now reaping the fruits of our successfully implemented strategic initiatives and efficiency-enhancing measures, as well as the portfolio restructuring that we have largely completed."
