Watch as half blind dovetails are cut in about 7 minutes and 50 seconds. I had hoped to do it in under 7 minutes, but several things prevented that. One, I fumbled too much with the clamping and un-clamping and two, the chisels are ground for working in hardwood, and therefore won't cut quite as easily as if they had a more acute bevel.

Sharpen those chisels. Especially using japanese chisels which are so much easier to sharpen and maintain an edge on, those chisels should be razor sharp.
Good video though, I enjoy seeing other peoples tools and techniques.
Interesting use of the card scraper.
Nice bench too. I enjoy seeing simple benches that are beat up and well used. I would hate to spend 1000 dollars or more on a bench that I would be scared to ding up.

very cool, i like some of the techniques, its not necessarily the quickest way, but its accurate and it works for you which is the most important thing, if it works for you and you like the process, the its all good!
