A geat journalist and an amazing, wondrous man. His wit and brilliance ran deep and so did his remarkable ability to abuse alcohol, coke and every other drug and still function. Definitely NOT a good role model at all. I wrote him a fan letter once, in 1982, and he wrote he a nice letter back - I could tell it was his scrawl anywhere. RIP you magnificent scoundrel.
