This is even worse case than textured scene alone. The way camera is done requires all objects on the scene to use immediate rendering mode, which is way slower for textured objects. But without this mode objects tend to disappear from one viewport or the other (main or camera). I think camera could be created in a different way, so that it wouldn't need immediate rendering mode. But well, that's another thing of lesser importance.
