The people complaining about the number of religious vs the number of atheists in the room are foolish. Since when did numbers of people make an argument stronger or weaker. If Atkins arguments are so strong they should hold up against 100 followers of God.

I facepalm at the comment about explaining love, SO FRICKING WHAT THAT WE CANT EXPLAIN IT. Maybe we never will, but again, so what? That does not mean that we should just jump to the conclusion of god.

Yeah, out of the whole universe. The millions of planetary bodies and countless space in the universe there is only one planet (that we so far know) where life can survive. And on that planet there has been multiple mass extinctions. And thousands upon thousands of species have been left behind. And we're now loosing another species ever couple of days. That doesnt seem like a fine tuned universe to me and certainly no evidence of a higher power. Aside from the power of nature and its laws.

This "debate" is a complete joke.
I could comprehensively and immediately refute each of the "arguments" put forward by the army of imbeciles apparently wheeled out to play the part of the audience.
Professor Atkins mumbled and stammered his way through the poorest responses possible as the pack of jackals leapt and tore at him. How diabolical. A very unbalanced broadcast that gives a false picture of the "issue".
A shameful hash. The BBC should issue an apology and redress what was said.
