Janet Biggs: Vanishing Point

'Vanishing Point' is a 12-minute video created by artist Janet Biggs. Its title taken from Richard Sarafian's 1971 road movie, "Vanishing Point" asks, "When are we no longer ourselves?" Combining images of motorcycle speed record holder Leslie Porterfield on the Bonneville Salt Flats with Harlem's Addicts Rehabilitation Center Gospel Choir, Biggs' "Vanishing Point" examines the search for freedom that can end in destruction or transcendence.

"Vanishing Point" was premiered at Claire Oliver Gallery in New York City in January, 2009.
