  • The reason for the horn being sounded in seemingly random places, is that when the train has to pass a crossing the driver should warn anyone using the crossing. The crossing could be a country lane with manually operated gates, or a public footpath with just stiles either side of the line. If you get the chance to see out of the front of the train there is normally a white square sign with a black "W" to remind the driver. The "W" means whistle, from the steam days, which ended 40 years ago.

  • Nice footage mate.

  • If anybody out there knows anything about trains, i'd love to know why they sound thier horn in random places. Is there any significant reason for it. Because I can't figure out the reason why the train would sounds its horn at 1.50 in the video.
