In 1999, we created a new strategy and campaign with Lion Nathan for XXXX GOLD, repositioning the brand as a lifestyle beer for blokes with responsibilities. What resulted was an episodic series of six campaigns featuring twenty seven TVCs over eight years, each featuring the same four mates on trips away to idyllic, remote locations. Common elements of each execution included big skies, a golden light and sayings such as, rules is rules and good as Gold. Of course, beer was always central to the story.
