  • awesome i'd love to go on one of your walks and collect fossils. Maybe this is a silly question but say someone on one of your walks found a very rare fossil do they have to hand it in to say the natural history museum in london or is it if they found it they get to keep it?.:) Sorry for the long question guys.

  • @crazydave234

No you can keep it, but are asked to record it as an important find

  • Looks like great fun! Thanks for sharing this .Does over collecting become a problem .We have to wait for more erosion in popular hunting grounds .

  • HI there flyingscience, I've taken a good look at your vids, well worth it, The worst time for collecting at Charmouth is when its hot and dry, However you never know as last August was very wet we had good collecting right through the summer.

  • We Also Go To Charmouth Every Year and actually going tomorrow ! cant wait ! we bring back more fossils each year !! :D

  • my dad does fossil hunting. our loft is full of bones from hasting. we also go to charmouth every year.

  • My understanding is its yours to keep. But if it is rare wouldn't a museum be better so lost of people can see it?

  • i found a huge one 2 years ago at charmouth and stayed at the campsite naerby. My brother was so jealous!
