This video shows the latest SAGE (Scalable Adaptive Graphics Environment) user interface development for direct manipulation of windowing on a tiled display. Previous SAGE user interaction with the tiled display was mediated through a control panel on a separate computer. The current solution being demonstrated allows the user to interact directly with the display environment using a handheld interface device. Rapid access to minimizing, maximizing and closing windows, as well as several defaults for managing and sizing numerous windows across the display with a single command are significant improvements over previous instantiations. A catalogue of content or media browser provides an extremely functional method for users to quickly browse and select content for display using thumbnail review.

This research is being conducted by EVL PhD candidate Ratko Jagodic, and is supported in part by funding from the National Science Foundation Award #OCI-0943559.
