My nieces and nephews laughed like crazy when they saw this one. Isn't it a shame that S.S. decided to quit airing any and all of these films a few years ago. What are they so afraid of? It's too bad so many kids are missing out on these funny, classic number painter segments. I heard all these "Mad Painter" segments were pulled because some busy bodies were worried that it may promote graffiti! I loved watching these number segment when I was a little kid and it never occurred to me once to get into graffiti. They really insult the intelligence of kids out there by assuming that they would brainlessly mimic anything they saw on TV! Kids know the difference between a goofy, funny skit on Sesame Street and reality! For a full 2-11 list of these Mad Painter segments, go to: http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Mad_Painter

  • If you're worried that this will drive kids to create graffiti, then either you or the kid are too stupid to be trusted outside the house.

  • Yes, every time I see a man's bald head, the first thing I think to do is graffiti a number on it. Banksy taught me to use stencils and rattle-cans so I can get in, paint the number and get out quickly, without getting caught...

  • Papp

  • I recall this actor who played the Mad Painter dressed and look similiar in the film "Cold Turkey" that had alot of popular starts in it like Dick Van Dyke, Bob Newhart, Tom Poston, and that had yet to appear on popular TV shows in the 70s.

  • I'm 43 and I think there are funny. Used to like seeing these films on SS back in the early to mid 70s when they aired

  • Part of what really makes these classic skits stand out is the superior use of music. Seems to be a lost art now.

  • I JUST CAN'T WATCH THIS WITHOUT LAUGHING. RIP BENTLY.

  • Classic Sesame Street rocks! Sesame Street today, eh, not so much. RIP Paul Benedict (Mad Painter)

  • It looks like that, that's a different hat that the painter is wearing since the hat he is wearing in this skit is the same color but it looks a little smaller where on the other painter skits his hat is a little bigger.

  • the 70's were so cool.2000's and 2010's suck

  • NO RUNNING IN THE POOL AREA!!!!!!!!!!
