This is just buffering I'm pretty sure, as you land from the n-air you buffer walking the opposite direction and a neutral a ground attack.

it seems like you have momentum from the air when landing so the pivot doesn't move you.

I do that all the time. You just slightly tap the control stick to the opposite direction so he moves in his standing position. I did it a lot of times when I was Fox. Look up D. Disciple (Fox) vs Aaron (Wolf)
