@Broly537 Good guy is very different to protagonist. Light is sort of an anit-hero, although to be honest his actions are usually morally grey. Besides, this anime could only end with his death, it just wouldn't be a decent ending to have the anime end with Light killing the entire near and everyone on the kira investigation and becoming god of the new world. Still, I hate near and prefer Light to L but it just couldn't end with light winning.
