This old unit was shut down for years until the oil prices came up. Production is only about one barrel a day therefore it only runs a few hours a day.

  • very nice and atmospheric video, good sound too.

  • I always liked the bark of these engines. These types of units used to be fairly common in our area but they're nearly all gone now.

  • Yes it is

I think you knew my father Wayne Payne

  • Well how about that! Sorry, I didn't make the connection. Yes I knew your father and know your Mom of course. You need to come over and see my museum sometime. I have oilfield stuff plus a lot of other things you might like to see.

  • Sounds like a old hit and miss engine.

  • Yes, I should have gotten a close up shot of the engine name plate but wasn't thinking at the time.

  • I love the belt cover sitting by the garage door..

  • that nice. the engine is an Ajax, i can tell by how it runs and looks

  • That's a cool unit never seen one like that, interesting how it lacks a horse head.

  • Not only have I never seen a pump jack without the "horsehead" that was this "modern" but it's weird how not only does the motor have it's own little shed it's housed it but it's also so far awayf rom the unit. Pretty cool.
