  • Teena was just talented all around. and a boundary breaker in many cases. I always felt that soul music was whatever moved your soul regardless of what color skin the artist had-or what genre the music was. and listening to this interview now, realizing the accidents were maybe now a part of this since they beget the seizures, you can see exactly how soulful and deeply she felt.

everybody misses Teena, not just Black folks, white people like myself-all of us. everyone of every color. <3

  • She was the most beautiful soul. Jesus, thank you for giving us the joy of Teena's music. As she herself wrote "Art is long, but life is short." I still mourn her passing, but I know she's with Rick now, and I know that her purpose on this earth was FULFILLED, and her music will live FOREVER!

  • @kax61 Apparently you didn't watch this interview thoroughly.

  • @vuman40a Those sub zero fridges are HUGE too and Tee was tiny. People just want to have bullshit to say because they wish they could sing like Teena or are mad because they didn't get a chance to know Teena. It's pathetic. I didn't know her but I got to know her through her songs in which various ones she has sang about turning down drugs. "Emerald City" and "Help young blood get to the freaky party" just to name a few.

  • @Memelisciousxoxox U r so right my friend. I forgot about a frig fallen on her. People r just plain ole assholes. Like how Whitney Houston just passed. Already crude remarks, jokes about her death. No respect n people r people don't judge give hugs and pray for the person that he or she beats the demon. It must feel real good to judge and have a perfect life. People that make those rude remakrs r so fucked up n misserable so they have 2 make themselves feel better by putting down other people.

  • @kax61 You know before u start making comments get your facts straight. Read my comment and memelisciousxoxox above. Teena took very good care of her vocals she didn't drink and abuse drugs. You try having a frig fall on u and see if you can handle the pain. Whitney did the crack and her voice went to hell which is ashame. I still wouldn't make stupid comments about Whiney either n here u r not knowing facts n shooting off shit from your mouth. FLUSH IT AND STUFF IT.. Mister know it all!! NOT!!

  • RIP DIVA

  • @vumann40 And remember she was only on that because a sub zero fridge had fallen on her. I get so sick of people saying she was on drugs her entire career. It's so stupid, they only come to that assumption because she knew rick james. The fuck? LOL Everyone knows a crack head in their life, does that mean we're all on crack too? I love your post though!

  • I miss you LADY TEE and know that you are back home with "OUR CREATOR" in your true spiritual body doing HIS WORK. It's been 1 year and 3 days since you passed on and the promise I made myself to listen to your music everyday I fulfilled. The second promise was to complete my collection of all you CD's and that was fulfilled also. I haven't grown tired of listening to your music and I doubt I ever will. Thank-you from a true fan !!!!!!!!

  • I wish Teena never mentioned how she got hooked on vicotin because alot of people think that she was a junkie. If you listen to the interview in the begining she said she was around alot of people doing wrong things that hurt thier vocals. Vicotin was prescribed by her doctor. It's not like she was smoking crack. Teena was very depressed about Rick James dying. She human like everyone else. Come on people she was and always will be a beautiful person. Don't judge until you walked in her shoes!!

  • i loved her speaking voice and most of all her singing voice. she was soooooooo freaking talented, it's crazy that she's gone.

  • R.I.P Teena Marie..you will be forever missed.
