  • This video does not address the huge amount of particulate matter that forms as a result of EGR. If an active regeneration system is used for the diesel particulate filter, then this lowers fuel economy. Also, EGR lowers engine efficiency because "dirty" air is reentering the cylinder. So, although the added weight of EGR may be slightly smaller, power will be down. Unlike an SCR system, which adds minimal back pressure.

  • Here in Europe, we all use SCR on heavy trucks. The components fitted on this truck were designed to look like distillery !!! In the real life, components are half the size and far better integrated in the chassis, even for a 13 liter engine.... Even the yellow urea tank is a joke. Actually the urea tank is very small and sometimes joined along the fuel tank. You can't even notice it.

  • i think this video shows how butt hurt navistar is about ford making a better diesel on their own. ahhh boo hoo.

  • Failed to mention how much MORE recirculation of egr, added RADIATORS and the atrocity when the hood is open, less complex! REALLY!

  • The simplest solution would be to run oil. No particulate matter. no fumes, aside from CO2, which the only amount produced is what is drawn in as the plant grew. Creating a carbon neutral fuel.

  • how can navistar meet 2010 emmisions with out scr? they cant they pass on the epa fines to their customers wont be long and navistar will come come crawling back to Cummins for engines and ill have to go back to working on 13 letter shit spreaders hahahahahhaha

  • @truckr74

    You can say that again.

  • If there is a way to meet emissions standards without decreasing engine output or longevity, and I don't have to buy that blue crap I am all for it. The environmentalist movement has already put to many small businesses out of commission. I care about the environment, but this has really gotten out of hand.

  • @Tater314 One gallon of DEF is used about every 300 miles. The tanks range in size from 6 to 23 gallons depending on the truck’s application which means you can go up to 7,000 miles between fill-ups.

  • Just give me a 3406 B Cat.

  • @Clap4meBitch add scr withour urea injestion
