Information and pictures from http://www.ldschurchtemples.com and Wikipedia about LDS (Mormon) Temples.

Temples are set apart as sacred space, as the House of the Lord, where the teachings of Jesus Christ are reaffirmed through ordinances such as baptism and eternal marriage.

  • Hi, I've seen this temple once in my life. I was wondering if anyone knew why it was modeled like a castle? I find it intriguing. Thanks.

  • I love the Logan Utah Temple!! It is one of my favorites! :)

  • The granite for the Logan temple came from a quarry in Green Canyon, about 3-5 miles away. It took teams of men and oxen, at times Brigham Young himself, to haul about 4 stones to the temple site per day. The more intricate work around the windows and doors is hand-carved sandstone.

In the early 1900's a fire destroyed a large part of the third floor, as well as an ornate spiral staircase in the Northeast (if I remember correctly) corner tower.

P.S. They serve orange FANTA in the cafeteria :)

  • my brother did get married there
