Your 100% right, once teams find out their hosting the memorial cup, They stack there teams with 19 and 20 year olds.

A lot of people tend to forget that if the Giants had won the WHL Championship, Medicine Hat would have been in the tournament anyway. As long as Vancouver made it to the Final, the Eastern Conference team was automatically going to the Memorial Cup. Same thing happened in 06. Moncton (hosts) won the QMJHL Final, but Quebec (Q Runners Up) ended up beating Moncton in the Memorial cup final.
What's stupid is a team like Ottawa winning the Cup in 99, after being knocked out in the first round.

4 teams play in Memorial Cup: Host team, WHL Champ, OHL Champ, and QMJHL Champ. This year Medicine Hat won OHL and Vancouver hosted.
