The speed is just right to prove the major contrast in action and then victory. You almost have to imagine a hero sneaking into the layer then the fight, then the victorious hero comes home. It was made to be dramatic and this director wanted to show the story.
ps. look out soon for Fear of the Dragon: Spirit of Northwest marching band show 2010. It's this peice in marching format :D

I play percussion in a concert band in which we play this but a fuller and better version! Love it though!

great performance. we´re playing this one too in our orchestra. our trumpet solo is a little bit better.

of course it is too difficult i know this.. but i don't know... we play this too and i must play the clarinett solo... im soo nervous....

I personally think it's a bit too fast, but speed (as many other things in music) is a personal interpretation.
Nevertheless, I think you did a good job on that peace of music. We also played it with our brassband (I'm one of the French horn players), and I know that it's far from easy ;)
