Scott Brown (Black) Winner by points
vs
Tim Gallagher Scola Gladiatoria

This is the final of the Joachim Nilsson Memorial Tournament at Swordfish08 (nylons). Well done both of you and congratulations to Scott Brown, the Ace of Spades!

The final was started off by a short speech by Martin Wallgren and a moment of silence for his good friend, one of the pioneers of HEMA in Sweden, Joachim Nilsson, a member of ARMA. The tournament was named after Joachim, who died in the summer 2008. Here is a clip that Martin put together in memory of his friend:

  • what sport is this and where is the tournament being held does every state have this?

  • is that mat with the large circle made for sword touraments?

  • Ace of Spades that is.

  • We have to make the Axe of Spades nickname stick, start using it in class! :).

  • Congrats to *all* the Nilsson tourney participants -- you all do great service to the art.

I could choose a lot more adjectives, but the ones I'll pick are: fortunate, proud, glad.

That's what I am, to have had the chance to train with and receive lumps from Scott this past year.

    Ace of Spades!
