i live in louisiana and do a good bit of fishing from lake pontchartrain...most of my fishing is done from a pier o a dock...around this area we usually get alot of speckled trout redfish black drum etc....i'm hoping to maybe target redfish and black drum using an 8 foot spinning rod spooled with 20 lb test with a 2 ounce egg sinker with 1 to 2 foot 40 lb mono leader or a 12 inch 60 lb wire leader with a 5/0 circle hook is there any advice u can give me or anything i need to change w/ my set up?

Why are you thinking about using the wire leader? They may eat it but not as well as the mono. Other than that I think you should be able to do well with that set up.

nah that cant eb a black drum, and the biggest drum i caught was about 10 pounds and i think 26 inches

biggest Drum i ever caught was 75 pounds. I caught the fish in a Shipping canal. in New Orleans, La right by lake Ponchartrain
