This is the world's first fully functional 3x4x5. While people have made "3x4x5's" before, those where actually "cubie chaos" puzzles which didn't function like a 3x4x5 at all.

Designed by me in SolidWorks, this puzzle has 19 unique parts(!) and 65 parts in total.

The puzzle moves really smooth and is generally quite stable, though certain pieces can 'fall out' due to a flaw in the design. You can flick a side with one finger but I wouldn't recommend doing that.

It is remarkably difficult to solve. My friend tried solving it last night, after an hour and a half he was close, but not quite there. I tried to finish what he had started this morning but I failed. I've reassembled the puzzle to make this video but I'm going to try solving it again another day.
It is able to shift shapes because the 3x5 faces can be turned by 90 degrees.

The cubies measure 16mm each which is pretty small. The puzzle was fully printed in black ABS by a dimension FDM printer. The puzzle parts were printed in sparse mode so the puzzle is surprisingly light. It is actually lighter than a Rubik's 4x4.

  • Why is it so darn expensive when Oskar's are harder but cheaper? Yours is 400 and above for this, Oskar's Carzy Comet is just only 300! Seriously, make a little cheaper. People would not want to buy a 400 cube that has a flaw in it too.

  • The price is based on the cost of 3D printing plus a profit margin. I am using the same profit margin as Oskar does, so by no means my puzzles are more expensive. Actually, he uses a wall thickness of 2mm while I use 1.5mm, so in a way my puzzles are cheaper.

It is true I am making an unreasonable amount of money on this. I think my wage is about $0.30 an hour.

Also, the 3x4x5 is probably way more difficult to solve than the Crazy Comet. The flaw has been fixed in the Shapeways version.

  • Why you stick different the colors???

  • Because I can.

  • holy crap this is sick!!! TUTORIAL PLZ!!!
