@OldHowlingHound When u use these units you are shedding the load. Meaning you can use a smaller unit and manage heavy loads like AC units. too much draw on the gen... then you get no ac.... simple ...It doesn't beat up the generator.
Its managing the power. Do you really think a typical home uses 166 amps @ 120 volts of power? Because that is what a 20 kw gen is rated at
I think ill go with the 10kw shed my loads and save myself $10,000 in the process

Power Management is nothing new in commercial-industrial buildings. For a home generator it is pretty new, but really it's just letting you get by with a undersized generator. Be smart and buy the machine you need. Grunting & Groaning a standby generator is not wise. Short life, failure and not really being able to start motors is the result of being penny wise and dollar foolish. THINK ... ding ding ding ... THINK
