The CNW 6930, the last CNW SD40-2 to survive a patch job leads the MPBDA into Fordyce, AR for a meet. The nose bell is clanging and he's in run 8. It was a great show. The train was 10,000 tons and 6850 feet.

  • Yep. MPBDA, mostly loads, sand, lumber and stuff.

  • This was taken in August of 02. My bad, I thought the 6930 was the last one. Thanks for the correction.

  • @AOS1738 It was my favorite locomotive.

  • looks like this one and the deltic share the same fate

  • MISS THOSE OLD C&NW SD40-2. I ONCE CHASED 2 OF THEM FROM THE BUTLER YARD TO THE SOUTHSIDE OF SHEBOYGAN, WIS. TAPEING THEM AT WHAT CROSSING I COULD CATCH THEM AT, WHAT AWAY TO SPEND AN AFTERNOON!

  • Poor little loco, still workin' hard at the front of the train, where it belongs!

  • @RailsandRoads same difference .... its unpatched now

  • @RailsandRoads No, IRM has a _depatched_ SD40-2 in their possession. UP had patched it, IRM removed the patch.
