Oasis of the Seas, shipbuilding by Ruukki

STX Finland has many years experience of working with Ruukki, which has a sound track record in the shipbuilding industry. Ruukki played an extremely important role in the initial stages of building Oasis of the Seas, when the ships hull was assembled. Ruukki was 70 per cent responsible for deliveries of steel products for the vessel.

The ships hull was built one block at a time, which meant the material for each block had to be delivered at the same pace as the customers plans progressed. At the busiest stage, steel deliveries arrived at the shipyard twice a week and were used immediately for block production.
