i´m no professional but a good thing for me is diversity. If you just lift weights, you might lift 200lbs but are slow and tired soon, so go swimming once a week. If you are jogging, take the road through the forrest so there is a steady diversity where you are running, up and down hill, different ground you are running on, etc.
Gymnastics! Do workouts with you´re own bodyweight, that will give you explosion! and the much needed balance!
