Its not a depression nor was it ever that's foolish as well as the assertation that the GOP caused it when Dem support of mortages for "the poor" and subsequent blocking of investigation or these practices did. Regardless, i agree the economy will matter but if it does recover, it will be too late for the Dems (not Obama but Dems mind you) to take credit. Which leaves 2 options, Obama can be Clinton with a GOP congress, or Carter and get booted.

A keen observation, Presidential approval ratings do tend to fall after the honeymoon period and I imagine the economic depression he inherited doesn't help his ratings.

We will see if he can manage to turn the economy around in 2-4 years, but the republicans dug a deep hole and it may not happen.

Looks like paul weyrich was right, your party may just get to drown the government in a bathtub after all, though the repugs may prefer lynching.

Obama and Dem approvals dropping, GOP numbers beginning to remediate, Nate Silver says Dems stand to lost at least 20 house seats in 2010 and Charlie Cook says 2010 is shaping up to 1994 levels with Dems likely to lose 20-50 seats in the House and as many as 6 in the Senate. But hey, you ignore all that and keep telling yourself the GOP is dead.

Yes, 6 months in, a economy all but destroyed thanks to 8 years of republican policies, a small group of radical reich wingers who claim that Obama is from Kenya and want to kill your grandparents..... It's the libs in trouble all right. and the republicans look like their on solid ground with their 4 piece tinfoil suits.
