I don't think anyone is in position to badmouth any fire department. The last time I checked we were all on the same team. Constructional critique is good, cussing out IC and other department's protocols accomplishes nothing.
@hherbson i thought the mayday channel thing wasnt a good idea cuz when your in the situation with gloves on smoke etc... its not ideal so it would be better to have everyone be silent and stay the fuck of the radio's for emergency traffic when anyone hears a mayday call
@MooseTrooper30 agree...ik that they are ton more volunteer depts but many aren't trained for this shit and this is how people get killed is from dumb shit volunteer shit
why dont you guys go to school learn the sender receiver protocol and you dumb shits wouldnt have problems like this...and the I.C should be in a command post at all times so he should have received the mayday call alot sooner with better response times,,
Very scary situation, I knew both FF's involved in the Mayday call. We're all so thankful Squad 14 was able to pick up the Mayday call and get everyone out safely.
cpl of comments to help with better communications. Instead of saying 3rd floor say division 3! Lot easier to understand. Another thing. have the RIT team on another channel so the Mayday and RIT team can communicate with out having someone say "ready for whater"
WHAT THE FUCK! 3 calls for the mayday and 40 seconds on the audio recording before it was even recieved! and i dont even think it was from command this is come fucking volunteer bullshit that gets guys killed... I hope the IC was repremanded for his scheer incompetience!
wow thats is some bull shit there last mayday we had here in pa every one not working on the fire grounds changed channels till the mayday was over

"this is how people get killed is from dumb shit volunteer shit"
You do realize that Cincinnati had the first all non-volunteer department, right?
