Cornered
Slight Spoilers for SPN Season 3 and on.



You came.
I knew you would,
Hoped that you wouldn't.
But I should've known
Humans are selfish, in the end.
And I envied you for that.

How I envied you.

You came,
And you wanted salvation.
Salvation, forgiveness
You wanted me to show you the Way.
And I was ready not to.

But then you said it.

Those seven words that could save your life,
And end mine.

I wanted to say "Tough Luck".
To tell you that your debts are not mine.
That the death of your brother, and
his rebirth,
were not my burdens to bare.

How I wanted to be selfish,
to turn you away.

So I screamed at you.
Hurt you.
Released the fury of my helplessness upon you.

But you asked to be shown the Way,
and despite my absence, I still cannot refuse
a child of my Father.
I don't have the sort of free will you have.

I just wanted to be human.
To stay human.

But so did you

And I knew.
Knew what you would become.

But I ignored it.

Ignored it until you showed me.
Showed me your war, your inner conflict.
How it was corroding you,
Taking over you.

Winning.

And you let it.

Let it rise,
Let it beat you down.

And I

I tried to pick up the pieces.

But it knew.
I saw recognition in its eyes.
It knew what I was,
The name I was really Given.

Knew how to hurt me.
To change me.
To seal the deal,
to brand me by a name other than my Father's.

To make me like you.

It shouldn't be possible
A demon cannot just make it so,
a human into a demon.
But the Fallen aren't human,
they are lost.
Easily taken.
Easily misguided.

Easily swayed.

A snap, bone dry in its sharpness,
and I felt darkness stir,
where once there was Grace.

I tried to run,
but I knew.
Knew I had to say "Yes",
or risk wandering lost forever.
Here, with you.

Die here, or save us both
And return to old Ways.

"Abba"

Overwhelmingso strong.

"Abba, help."

Just as easily as it was Refused,
He Gave it again.
Blue light

Light that, where ever the darkness lingered,
it was already there.
Just reawakened.

And so I saved you,
touched your Light, and
raised you from the grips of Perdition.

You opened your Eyes,
New Eyes,
and grimaced.

I knew what was on your Heart.
Knew you thought me cornered.
And I was, but not by you.
Never by you.

You're not convinced,
but that's alright

I almost forgot how it felt,
to be pursued.
To be loved by Someone so jealous.

Mercy smiled,
and asked no more.

It is finished.

Some sound for the punch would've been good, since they do talk. I would've preferred this as another pairing, but this wasn't too badly edited. The wings seemed... pushed together and then pulled some. But good luck.
