  • My mom was the secretary the news director at WUAB for years. She was good friends with Linn Sheldon and is still friends with Superhost. Seeing this video brings tears to my eyes. Seeing the set in person when I was a kid was magic. Thank you so much for posting this, my sister and I both appreciate it.

  • you are more than welcome !!

  • Hi Gang. Linn Sheldon was my Dad. He was the funniest person I ever new. He had problems with drinking but NEVER went on drunk. Thanks for posting this. It is a wonderful memory of him.

  • it's a honor to have you post a response. your dad is a icon and his legacy will live forever with us. thanks for the kind words.

  • He used to live on the corner of York and Ridgewood. Didnt he come on the set drunk once and say "if anyone calls tell them that Barnaby says go to hell!"

  • never heard that story !! funny.

  • Wow loved that show, i can still hear his voice and see his face at the end of the show talking right into the camera i swear he could picture our faces when he spoke, that melody warms my heart, he truly loved people you cant fake that, he really must have had a troubled soul god bless him.

  • @sweetmegan1997

Heard that once or twice, sounds like an urban legend. Still, Mr. Sheldon admitted he had a drinking problem, and maybe one day things just got tough.

  • @jeffpolara

With all apologies, that might be an urban legend. Barnaby had many problems, but it's hard to imagine he'd actually go on air like that before his young and loyal fans.

On the other hand, my brother did see the infamous "Bozo No-no" episode, so who am I to say?

  • @vjmlhds

and people call this progress. well it that's progress than I'm a Dutchman! (with all apologies to the good people of the Netherlands)

  • BARNABY!!!! I loved this show. And once I began school, it was my cue to get it out the door so I could be on time.

  • Thank you for your dad. It wa such a treat for me to have watched Barnaby. I wish children of this generation were exposed to such fine programming. Maybe they would be inspired to help instead of bully and taunt each other to the point of killing themselves. So I thank you for Barnaby, and he is missed.

  • @pasi9622 I was one of the children who watched until I moved away from the Cleveland area in 1963. Barnaby was a great friend to me. He is missed.

  • My dad worked at WUAB. I actually have a picture with me and Barnaby taken during a live TV Christmas show, sometime around 1971. I was so shy, I don't think I said anything, though Barnaby tried his hardest to get me to speak! Bless him.

  • Wow that was kinda sad. I use to watch Barnaby cuz he used to have decent cartoons in the AM before school!

  • Barnaby's mom babysat my mom and some her family. My Grandma loved to tell that story.
