Once upon a time,an English village situated in the heart of a valley that was his name, Wall, wall marking the boundaries of the neighboring kingdom, Stormhold, populated by fantastical creatures. One evening, despite the ban, a man ventured to the other side and met the woman of his life. This night of love was born a baby, Tristan. Today on Wall, the boy raised by his father, unaware of his origins. Loving the lovely Victoria, Tristan decides to prove his feelings, bring her a fallen star. He climbs the wall and then discovers that the star is shorn other than celestial creature with the features of a beautiful young girl Yvaine, lying at the bottom of a crater.

Il était une fois un village anglais situé au cœur d'une vallée qui devait son nom, Wall, au mur qui marquait les frontières du royaume voisin, Stormhold, peuplé de créatures fantastiques. Un soir, malgré l'interdiction, un homme s'aventura de l'autre côté et y rencontra la femme de sa vie. De cette nuit d'amour naquit un bébé, Tristan. De nos jours à Wall, le garçon, élevé par son père, ignore ses origines. Épris de la jolie Victoria, Tristan décide, pour prouver ses sentiments, de lui rapporter une étoile tombée du ciel. Il escalade alors le mur et découvre que l'étoile chue n'est autre qu'une créature céleste ayant les traits d'une belle jeune fille : Yvaine, gisant au fond d'un cratère.
