I've never seen Paul like this. And undoubtedly the reason he's like this is because he just lost Linda. And if you're ever experienced that kind of true loss, you're essentially in a daze for at least a year, and don't really care about anything and sometimes don't even see the world as real -- it's all just make believe and you're just trying to get on with it without breaking down every 10 minutes. His daughter was clearly going through the same thing - "didn't give a shit" about pretense.
