555 Timer Circuit - BlackWidow Blinker

Electronics are quite extraordinary. However their fascinating complexity is always hidden from view unless you study electronics or have the inquisitive nature to pick up a book and figure it all out. I did the latter.

You could even take the study to the extent of art. I'm not a visual artist but I've tried to present these simple circuits in a way to spark the interest to not only understand how these things work but to encourage you to pick up a book and a few parts and put them together!

This type of circuit this is called an 555 timer circuit. It's rather simple to build. There are hundreds of videos, diagrams and schematics online on how to make one. Go ahead and try it, then expand it and let your imagination run wild.
