WSB 94 Open

The quality isn't great here...however it's the original mini "coverage you can count on" open where they removed the anchors. In fact they haven't had an anchor open since..it's also John Pruitt's first day back at WSB.

I miss that music. I remember all of that. The same voice over who was at WAGA channel 5 before it moved to fox. I'm also blind and I also know people at WSB.

Don left WSB in 1997... his son Justin is now co-anchoring 5, 6 & 11PM news. Chris Curle left about the same time too. John stepped down from evening news last December... he'll be seen on Family 2 Family specials that air on WSB every once in a while. Chuck stepped down from 6 & 11PM sports in late 2009... he's seen on Bulldogs Game Week show. Monica is still there, co-anchoring 4 & 6PM news... Oprah's show ending recently. Glenn's still there too. Such great memories.

But open the Sound Recorder program (if you have Microsoft Windows) under the Accessories menu under Start. Press Record and play the video while SR is recording. After editing the sound to your liking, you can then save the audio you've recorded to MP3 format, to which you can upload to various sites out there that will convert it to a downloadable cell phone ringtone free of charge.

An explanation about the picture quality. It isn't you fault. It's a weather condition know as "e-skip". Either a cool front or a high pressure system

over the southeast caused it during time of that recording. This always happens mostly on the (then) VHF-TV channels (2-13), on some UHF channels, and on the FM band. When it happens, you'll recieve other stations from miles away. This occurs mostly in the mornings and in early evenings during the spring thru summer months.

Monica Kaufman is one of the most respected newscasters in Atlanta. She started at WSB-TV in August 1975. She anchors Channel 2 Action News at 6:00 and Channel 2 Action News Nightbeat at 11:00 with her colleague for over 15 years, John Pruitt. Pruitt first worked for WSB but left WSB for rival WXIA in 1978 and stayed with WXIA for over 15 years before joining Monica at the Action News anchor desk again. Pruitt rejoined WSB-TV on Monday, July 4, 1994.
