Chinese are really pissed off by france during the paris leg of torch relay. There are protest in San Francisco and London. But the Paris has been out of the line. Especially Sarkozy's wife even make fun of it. China don't need france as much as u.s and germany. That's why france become the target. After a little while, they will come back to senses

That is very good question. Some Tibetan ethanic people are not happy because they are still poor while Han ethinic people can make money in Tibet. Before 1950 Tibet was ruled by Dalai Lama with slaveres and masters. The situation was like Rome two thousands years ago. Poor, no education for people, no right, never know how to do business. Chinese government tried to develop this area with Affirmative Act to minority ethinics (including Tibetans) to give them more oppotunities.

Now let me ask you why there were those violent riots if everything were alright for the tibetans? Tibet is a part of china but it seems the CCP oppress the ppl living in this part.

If we are friends, and that's what I hope, you have to accept that we are a democracy, a free country, and that we can meet anybody. As most of the french people, I don't have any particular sympathy for Tibet, but if some people protested against the Olympic flame, its their right. All this story is bullshit, we will not "free" tibet, and you will not destroy our economy, in this multipolar world, we need each other.

Again, Tibet is part of china more than 600 years ago. Previous Dalai Lamas were all chosen by Chinese emporer and governent from three candidates.

I think 600 hundred long enough to claim Tibet as part of China. We would retreat from Tibet if Americans could give America back to Indians most of whom were killed and a lot of whom live in the reservation. (Do you ever care their human rights? Tibetan Chinese live a much better life.)
