For this writing week Alli talks a little bit about the uses of past tense and present tense in a story. Also she shows a different angle in her house! (There will be a tour at some point, she's just too busy at the moment to do it justice.)

Check the vlog for bonus Tosche!

Next weekend she and two other dot nerds are headed to Dragon*Con. Amazing vlogs will follow! (They're all excited.)

  • The character survives if the story is in the past tense. Unless it's Mikey. *cough*

    THE SUBJUNCTIVE IS SEXY, OKAY?

  • I've read a lot of stories told FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE, and they can work if done right (fave book starts "Most people would call me a ghost. I am, after all, dead."), and those don't bother me nearly as much as stories that switch to a second character's POV because the main character died. That is just shite planning and I can't think of any stories where it doesn't make me crazy.
