Colin Powell went to UN and waved a piece of paper around as evidence that was fake and he knew it,yet instead of resigning,he went along with it. He is a traitor and every bit as responsible for this mess we are in. I see he is "comming out" again trying to save his reputation with more lies and deception.
I belive Colin Powell is a great man.First,he told Bush our army was being strectched to begin with,2nd he left the Bush administtration to focus on dealing with iran or somethin.Or maybe i think it was somethin for peace in africa,i dont remember.Thats sad that sanannnmay can call Colin Powell a criminal.
Also, one more thing. I agree that almost everything you hear from the national media should be taken with a grain of salt, I just disagree with you on the reason for this.
I appreciate your tone and willingness to agree to disagree as well. I suggest that in the future, you stay on the lookout for the media vs. government war. The government only wants people to know about the positive, and the media only wants to talk about the negative. It's actually fun(ny) to watch if you've got the knack.
I appreciate your reasonable tone, MyrKat. It appears that you may be one of "them" I can respect. I agree that the media had a heyday with the Monica thing, but there's a lot of other glossed over incidents (Whitewater, Foster, Willey, ect) that stick in my craw. I will though, respectfully agree to disagree about bias in the media. Thanx for the sparring, man. Peace.
The mainstream media has so many non-ideology biases (sensationalism, laziness, get-it-first) that any ideological bias they could possibly have would get buried by the avalanche of other, less politically motivated biases.
Bury Democratic scandals? They said both parties took money from Abramoff even though that isn't even true. In 1998 we had 2 years of all Monica all the time and it was rare that someone would mention that only 26% of the country favored impeachment. In 2000, 13% of stories about Al Gore were Positive as opposed to 24% for Bush, while 56% of stories about Gore were negative as opposed to 49% for Bush.
If they are not biased, why do they bury Dem scandals (Reid, Obama, Davis, Leahy, Klinton(s)) and amplify Pub transgressions? Why aren't they screaming for the head of Sandy Berger? Hell, no one would even know he stole classified docs if it weren't for the blogosphere.
