@katkula this is my beloved Gilels. How I love him. And I thought the same like you, that there is no one who could play this etude good nowadays, until I found sth really impressing here on youtube: Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy in an early recording

Distinctive Gilels sound and awesome technique! Marvellous interpretation! I have heard no one who could play this good nowadays..
