I have never shot a firearm that did not produce a muzzle flash? That being the case why shouldn't there be one? The muzzle flashes are composites of real muzzle flashes from suppressed and regular 9mm pistols. Since the muzzle flashes are from real guns of the same caliber used in this movie it seemed necessary to add muzzle flashes.
