People argue back and forth who was the best guitarist or drummer. Being a non-musician, just a listener, someone enjoying the music (I was 21 when the Doors released their first album), John Densmore impressed me with his amazing versatility and adaptability. The Doors' music went from one extreme to the other. Much of it was in the form of narrative with Morrison reciting poetry set to music. It was a challenge for the drummer. Densmore did a masterful job. A perfect synergy.
