@Nictusempra We were right here complaining then as we do now about out-of-control government spending. Just as the Republicans didn't listen, the Democrats didn't listen then as they don't listen now. It took the tea party movement to bring it to the forefront.

Its funny how some people keep the scare train rolling (bankrupt, illegal immigrants, Canada, UK, socialisms, government take over) and so on. Grow some balls and try to move our healthcare up the scale. We need a nonprofit option and the private system and then we will see who can provide the best care. I say just get it done and if it doesnt work you can pin it on Obama and say I told you so.

Also, just sit back and ask yourself how many program have work efficiently, or at all, with the government in control. Social security, nope, medicad/medicare, nope, postal service, poorly, the list goes on and on. Son, i have put money into SS since I was 12, i will never see a penny of it. This is what I mean by real world experiences. There is nothing I can tell you, you will have to figure it out as you go, just like i did. In 1974, i was a screaming Liberal, wanting to string Nixon up.

Even your own democratic party crapped when they saw a $1.5 trillion bill to insure only another 16 million people, still leaving 36 million uninsured. And you know what, some of the uninsured can be insured, they just don't want to pay even though they can, now that's really fair to make me pay for them isn't it? Look, health care needs reform, but not thru socialized health care.
