His singing has improved a lot from his first solo album in 1979.

it's not that boring, but it's very different than all his older stuff. He want's to get wider masses interested in his new stuff. I think it's a bit weird he's not playing violin, cause his playing always took me on a higher level of existence, and this is of course not even comparable to the older stuff.

I do not really know why shankar (now shenkar) does this!
I love his indian music and all recordings with his fabulous violin playing.
