Johns Hopkins Student Kills Intruder with Sword - My Response

is it moral to kill a guy just because he's trying to steal some of the crap in your garage? There were 4 or 5 students (one with a sword) and they couldn't chase him off or subdue him without killing him?

the suspect had a hand cut off and a large cut on his upper torso. Sounds like he saw the strike coming and put his hand up to "block".. either that or the student took a few swings.. it's just wrong to do if you don't have to, the guy was unarmed...

The guy was allegedly rushing at the student. I don't know if you've ever been in a situation where you've felt your life was threatened, but I can tell from first hand experience you do whatever necessary to survive.

If that student hadn't struck first and instead got tackled then possible murdered himself, at the hand of his own weapon, there would be people saying the student is an idiot.

The man had no business being in that garage. Is it moral to steal someone's property?

Haha, I totally agree with you on everything you said.

I had my car window broken into. I fucking was so pissed. It cost $180 to replace. All I can say is Karma. Someday that person is gonna get their ass beat or worse, so I can at least have some comfort in believing that.

@jbizzled78 Same here. It cost me ~$200 for the window and ~$350 for the alarm system I got after that. I didn't lose any thing from the car since I never kept valuables in there. I agree with the video poster. I wanted to buy an asp after that so that if my alarm went off I could go out and beat the snot out of the person. Screw calling the cops. A good beating ought to teach these criminals a lesson.

The moment someone is willing to break into another person's residence, steal property that isn't his, and on top of that takes an aggressive action against the homeowner. That criminal has no right to his personal security, and that student should be congratulated for protecting his property and perhaps life.

The system had obviously failed in rehabilitating this criminal. He got what he deserved, and I don't pity him nor his family.
